About Me
As a Central Coast native...
Nothing energizes and grounds me more than the endless beauty of this coast. Ever since leaving the area to study Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder, my appreciation for this coast has only grown stronger. I never want to take what we have here for granted, and I want to share the excitement for our environment for those who call this heaven a home or for those experiencing it for the first time.
When I'm not teaching or taking yoga classes from all my incredible fellow teachers in the area, I am hiking, chasing full immersion in nature and always scouting for a natural ice bath to dip in with my partner, Josh and pup, Miller.
My Story
I started my yoga practice 15 years ago and each year it continues to evolve; each year it becomes more integral to my wellbeing. I have always valued time to myself, and this ancient practice creates an opportunity for me to listen to the whispers of my body, of my heart and of the land. I'd always hoped to be a teacher one day, but I didn't expect my opportunity to arrive so soon. After 8 years of climbing the ladder in corporate Business, I accumulated a heavy weight of burnout and exhaustion over the years. I was so overwhelmed with the lack of control I had in my life, so much of it consumed by a career that didn't make me feel fulfilled. It came to a point where I had no choice but to leave for my mental, physical and emotional health; I set out on a mission of following my core values and calming my nervous system.
I immediately attended a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Harmony House Yoga of Pismo Beach with the amazing Kelly Keene. This training specialized in Hatha and Vinyasa styles of yoga with an Iyengar yogic approach which focuses on proper alignment, usages of props to better align the body, buildable sequences that safely prepare the body for the purpose of practice, and settling into postures for longer to feel the fullest benefits of each pose. But beyond that, it taught me about my present breath, how my energy impacts the world and that I am solely in control of my life and all the beauty that happens within it.
This training transformed my life and my relationship to life. Learning the yogic beliefs in a deeper way reminded me of what truly matters. Connection; connection to ourselves, to others, to the Earth, to nature, to something larger than us, to something ancient, and to a source of wisdom that we are all tethered to... if we choose to listen.
